LOUIS - Temperatures in the 90s, no breeze and shirt-drenching mugginess: As of Tuesday, it's officially summertime in Missouri. While the sometimes stifling heat and humidity are part of summer life in the Show-Me State, it can be dangerous for the very young, the chronically ill and perhaps especially, the elderly. Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services epidemiology specialist Carol Braun said that of the 353 Missourians who died of heat-related illnesses from 1989 through 2004, 225 were 65 or older.
